Ajo, AZ — The Ajo Golf Course is the setting for the Old Time Fiddlers Show and Contest in Ajo February 2-5. Ajo is a great setting for photographers. This former copper-mining locale is rich in beauty and history. The Spanish Colonial architecture is a wonderful backdrop for beautiful photography.
In addition to the town itself the area rocks. The Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, and the gateway to Mexico’s Sea of Cortez is nearby. The Mexican border is 43 miles away, wonderful area to explore.
I should also mention that during this same time there is a rodeo at Sells, AZ. The Tohono Óodham Nation Rodeo is the biggest event of the year.
