The terms tropical and desert just don’t seem to go together. But Tucson rewrites all the rules. The Tucson Botanical Gardens has Arizona’s only tropical butterfly exhibit called Butterfly Magic. I consider this place flower magic as well. Since the temperatures are always nice and steamy, and the humidity is very high it is a great place to take photos of all things tropical, plants included.
By the way, when you go in your photo gear will probably be covered in all kinds of condensation. The trick, make sure your camera is warm when you go in, or make sure you allow the camera to warm up before you go and change lenses or something like that. It is a great place to take your flash, and don’t forget to take a way to clean your lens if it gets all covered in condensation and you want to start photographing before your equipment really warms up.
