Curley School, National Register of Historic Places

Curley School, National Register of Historic Places by Jim Purcell

Pima County, Ajo, AZ Mar 19, 2006 — This Historic School has been turned into artist lofts in the beautiful town of Ajo, AZ. The school is an architectural masterpiece in Spanish Colonial Revival Style, built in 1919.

If you are looking for great places to photograph find the National Registry of Historic Places! It’s a great way to find historically significant locations in the United States. The Federal Government has a list for the Southwest. Wikipedia has a different list which has more on it. Here is the one for Pima County. I haven’t taken the time find out the whys and the wherefores, but these lists are a great place to start to find some wonderful historically significant buildings in the area.
