Gene Reid back in the 1960s had a great idea, and the Reid Park Zoo is it. With four zones representing four habitats, the zoo holds more than 500 animals and is wonderful place for the photographer no matter the age or mobility.
The zoo’s medical facilities are most impressive due to a partnership with the University of Arizona. They treat animals from all over the United States. I’ve been very impressed with the professionalism of all the handlers and zoo staff.
A membership is a great bargain especially if you travel. The zoo has reciprocal relations with many zoos across the nation.
